Context and description of the project

Caritas Mauritania (CM) is an NGO that promotes the initiatives of the most vulnerable population groups poor. It initiates projects by involving the beneficiaries in their design, implementation and assessment. Its activities stem from a knowledge of the environment, the result of a close presence. She promotes participatory, community animation. The fundamental principle that guides the action of Caritas Mauritania is the principle of the dignity of the human person which founds all the other principles, of the good commonality, subsidiarity and solidarity.

Caritas Mauritania is launching an “integrated rural development of northern Gorgol” project, in 6 municipalities of the Moughataa of M'Bout. This project is carried out in partnership with Caritas Spain, with public funds Spanish (2022/PCONV/000401).


SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

1. Develop agriculture in a sustainable manner in selected communities in the Moughataa of M'Bout to ensure an increase in quality food availability with an approach of agroecology

2. Improve physical and economic access to food by creating productive and income generators in the Moughataa sector of M'Bout

3. Strengthen local governance of food and nutrition security by engaging carriers of homework, the change-oriented approach and the promotion of gender equality in M'Bout moughataa.

4. Promote effective, transparent and quality aid, within the framework of HRB, strengthening faces Caritas agents as subjects of responsibility, open to processes learning and responsibility.


DESCRIPTION OF TASKS

Reporting hierarchically to the Coordinator, the responsibilities of the animators are as follows:

1. Disseminate the project approach to the beneficiary populations and pay close attention to the messages delivered and in particular ensure that they are properly understood

2. Identify, raise awareness and energize target groups

3. Train and sensitize management committees, cooperatives and administration officials

4. Participate in the development of operating agreements between the project and the beneficiaries at the start of each intervention

5. Collaborate with the other component managers involved in carrying out the project

6. Remain at the disposal of the Coordinator for any additional mission necessary for the smooth running of the activities.

7. Report to the hierarchy on the progress and progress of activities

8. Write mission reports

9. Write a narrative report of activities once a month

10. Contribute to the development and improvement of the strategy of all aspects of the program during its execution, if necessary.


DIPLOMA / LEVEL OF STUDY OF THE CANDIDATE

Level BAC+3 or equivalent (CAP)


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Have professional experience of at least three (3) years in: local development, development organizational and Institutional, knowledge of animation and awareness-raising methods community within a reputable NGO.


TECHNICAL SKILLS & QUALITIES REQUIRED

  • Good knowledge and skills in data collection methods
  • Good knowledge of the main IT tools essential
  • Good interpersonal skills, listening skills, sense of priorities, availability and flexibility
  • Good contact with communities and a taste for teamwork
  • Sense of confidentiality, punctuality, rigor and honesty
  • Dynamism and proactivity
  • Good ability to write reports (analysis and synthesis)
  • Excellent level of written and oral communication in French
  • Knowledge of local languages including Hassiniya and Pulaar
  • Willing to travel extensively in the field and able to work and live in a rural
  • Good knowledge of the project area (the Mbout area) and local customs will be valued
