Cancellation of the call for tenders for the construction of two premises
Subject: cancellation of the tender for the construction of two premises for storage unit and
transformation of vegetable products for the project "Support for Food Security and
Resilience to Climate Change (pASARC) in southern Brakna".
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Caritas Mauritania launched a national tender on February 8, 2024, for the construction of two units of
storage and transformation of vegetable products.
Following the opening of the bids on February 20 and the analysis of the submitted offers, the procurement committee
noticed an error in the technical description of the terms of reference. On March 14, 2024, this
error was the subject of the attached letter sent to all bidders. It aimed to
correct the error and to open an additional period for suppliers to submit a
revised financial offer.
However, on April 3, 2024, Caritas Mauritania was informed by the main project funder of the
non-compliance of the procedure put in place even before the opening of the new bids. Therefore, following this
information, it was decided by the procurement committee to proceed with the cancellation of the tender
opened on February 1, 2024. This will be replaced by the opening of a new national tender whose
terms of reference will correct the errors of the previous tender and allow us
to comply with the expectations of the main project funder.
To this end, all suppliers who have submitted an offer are invited to come and collect their still
sealed offer. They are also invited, like any supplier who wishes, to respond to the new
tender that will be launched on April 24, 2024.
